Janitor/Custodian Position

Overview:
The Lakedell Agricultural Society is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Cleaner to
maintain our multi-use community facility. Cleaning is based on facility usage and scheduled events.
The ideal candidate will ensure all areas are clean, stocked, and presentable for rentals, public
functions, and arena use.

Key Responsibilities:
● Clean and maintain Main Hall, Small Hall, Curling Rink, Riding Arena, kitchens, bars, foyers,
lounges, and bathrooms
● Perform cleaning duties weekly or before scheduled functions (whichever comes first)
● Sweep, mop, vacuum, disinfect surfaces, and empty garbage
● Restock washroom and kitchen supplies
● Inspect and deep clean high-use areas (especially main hall bathrooms)
● Complete and initial posted cleaning checklists
● Monitor and order cleaning supplies as needed
● Coordinate with the facility administrator regarding event schedules
● Address renter-related cleaning deficiencies (billable follow-up when required)
● Perform monthly and quarterly deep cleaning tasks (floor waxing, appliance cleaning,
cupboards, etc.)

Additional Details:
● Some laundry duties required (dish towels/cloths laundered off-site)
● Cleaning frequency increases during peak seasons (e.g., farmers’ market, curling season)
● Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
Qualifications:
● Previous janitorial or facility cleaning experience preferred
● Strong attention to detail
● Good communication and time-management skills
● Ability to lift cleaning equipment and supplies
