The Lakedell Agricultural Society is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Student to join our busy and diverse team for the summer months. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community programming, event planning, and groundskeeping with a well-established rural non-profit.


Position Overview
Reporting to the Board of Directors and assisting our office staff, the successful applicant will support a variety of tasks that include:
• Weekly Friday Farmers Market set up and assistance
• Assisting with event planning and setup (e.g. Lakedell Fair and other community events). Various office and organizational tasks
• Groundskeeping: gardening, painting/staining, and general site maintenance
• Outdoor prep for various events
Position Details
• Flexible work schedule (average 30 hours/week)
• Must be available Fridays until 7 PM for the Farmers Market
• Occasional weekend work may be required (to be discussed)
• 8-week contract


Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and the ability to work independently
• Comfort working outdoors in various conditions
• Ability to operate small machinery and perform manual tasks such as painting and yardwork


Eligibility Requirements
This position is funded through a summer student grant program. To be eligible, applicants must:
• Be between 15–30 years of age
• Be a resident of Alberta
• Be enrolled in full-time studies (high school or post-secondary) for Fall 2025
