We are HIRING!

The Lakedell Ag Society Requires a Summer Student for our busy and diverse organization.

The successful applicant will be reporting to the board of directors and assist the current office staff during the summer months.  Some duties may include promoting Lakedell Ag Society at the weekly farmers markets, assisting the office staff in planning events such as the Lakedell Fair and coordinating various summer rentals, office duties including managing telephone calls and e-mails, monthly newsletters, filing and assisting inside the office.  But also outdoor and grounds maintenance could be included such as light gardening, painting/staining, ground work with our groomer, general clean-up around the grounds and prep for certain events. 

We are willing to offer flexible hours(part time- full time) but do ask that the candidate work most Friday’s until  7pm at the Farmers Market.  There may also be the occasional weekend worked but that is to be discussed with successful applicant.  The start date is proposed for early July.

The successful applicant must possess excellent organizational skills, multitasking and communication abilities as well as the ability to work independently with no supervision.  Applicants should be familiar with website publishing/maintenance, Microsoft Word and Publisher as well as able to do light outdoor maintenance. 

We thank all candidates for their application; however only those selected for an interview will be contacted by the board.  Lakedell Agricultural Society is working with a grant program to fund this summer student and as such we kindly ask that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • be enrolled in full time courses in either high school or post secondary in the fall of 2022
  • be between 15-30 years old
  • be a resident of Alberta.
