Summer Student Position

The Lakedell Ag Society Requires a Summer Student for our busy and diverse organization.

The successful applicant will be reporting to the board of directors and assist the current office staff during the summer months.  Some duties may include promoting Lakedell Ag Society at the weekly farmers markets, assisting the office staff in planning and set up of events such as the Lakedell Fair but also outdoor and grounds maintenance such as gardening, painting/staining, general clean-up around the grounds and prep for certain events. 

We are willing to offer flexible hours(on average 30 hour work weeks) and may ask that the candidate work Friday’s until  7pm at the Farmers Market.  There may also be the occasional weekend worked but that is to be discussed with successful applicant.  The position would be for 8 weeks (July 8th – August 31st)

The successful applicant must possess excellent organizational skills, multitasking and communication abilities as well as the ability to work independently with no supervision.  The ideal candidate would be comfortable working outside, operating small machinery, painting and doing various grounds keeping projects.

Lakedell Agricultural Society is working with a grant program to fund this summer student and as such we kindly ask that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • be enrolled in full time courses in either high school or post secondary in the fall of 2019
  • be between 15-30 years old
  • be a resident of Alberta.
