Youth Riding Camp

Please note that we have not cancelled the 2020 camp at this time however we are going to work to see if we can be in alignment with AHS guidelines and mandates.  At this time we are still unsure if the camp can run but we will try our best keeping the safety of our campers and community in mind.

July 29-31 2019 was an amazing experience for 20 campers, we hope to carry this on if at all possible!

Saddle up and Ride Youth Riding Camp offer the riders a wide range of riding disciplines and different clinicians that offer exciting and fun riding techniques for the level of the rider. At the Saddle up and Ride camp our focus is building a confident rider, providing opportunity to bond with their horse, meet new friends and try something new. The camp also provides a fun atmosphere for the riders, as well to make their Saddle Up and Ride Youth Horse camp and an unforgettable experience. Planning is under way! Participants may participate in: groundwork, western lessons, English lessons, jumping, polocrosse, gymkana, games on horseback, trail, horse health, crafts, tack care, and so much more! The 3 day horse camp is an adventure for all young horse lovers!  We accept 8-18 year olds (although they need to have turned 9 by January 1, 2020).  The kids and their horses are dropped off at 10am on Monday and they participate in lessons, crafting, dismounted learning and make new friends until you come to their showcase at 5pm on Wednesday.  For an hour or so they will all show their family members what they have learned….and then you take the tired campers home to bed:) During their stay they will camp in tents set up in the main hall at Lakedell Ag and eat meals prepared by volunteers or brought in from local restaurants.  No one has ever complained about hunger around camp!
